Since July 2008, there is a new, spectacular picture atlas of the Balearic Islands showing their many different facets. Travel photographer, Holger Leue, and the author, Lothar Schmidt, depict the sunshine island on 118 pages – from the party atmosphere to the beach and to siestas in isolated mountain villages.

If you are interested in Mallorcan specialities, then the ”savoir vivre“ chapter is well worth a look. Everything to do with olive oil, oranges and marmalade, or the typical pork sausage called sobrasada, which hangs from the ceiling in many shops, can be found here.

The picture atlas contains six chapters on different areas, each of which includes a map of the area or town. Vivid impressions are captured in about 180 colour photographs. The illustrated book is available in bookshops and newsagents.
